The practical nursing program is offered through the Centre for Nursing Studies. The Centre was established in 1996 and is operated by the Health Care Corporation of St. John's. It is a member of the Association of Community Colleges of Canada and an associate member of the Canadian Association of University Schools of Nursing. Approximately 70 students are admitted annually in September at the Centre for Nursing Studies. The program may be offered at sites outside St. John's subject to approval by the College for Licensed Practical Nurses based on human resource need. At the present time, the Practical Nursing program is being brokered at the College of the North Atlantic, Corner Brook and Grand Falls Windsor campuses, with an annual intake of 30 students per site for September 2003 and September 2004.
